David Porter asked me (Scott Leslie) if I knew of any research supporting the economic benefits of "open." While the request was at first specific to our work in Open Education, I have expanded the search to include evidence of the economic benefits of many different kinds of open, especially as some of the more mature fields, like Open Access and Open Source, have much more substantial findings in this regards.
